Unfortunately several of my friends have parents who have Alzheimer’s disease, the most common form of dementia and their slow deterioration is very painful for friends and family to watch, because while the person who has this disease is not aware of changes in their own habits and behaviour, their loved ones are faced with sad realities like memory loss, confusion, aggression, trouble with language and withdrawing into oneself, away from loved ones on a daily basis. Sadly this disease doesn’t only affect people over 65, as early onset and symptoms can start taking place at a much younger age.
A dear friend of mine, who will remain nameless ( you know who you are and thank you for the link that you have sent me, I found it incredibly enlightening and educational ! ) is doing her research not only to help her own mother, but other people as well, so she has kindly sent me the link to the article that I found a sort of an eye opener.
I have known about general benefits of cooking and using olive oil and groundnut oil, but has never realised that coconut oil can be so helpful and so potent on many levels-in cooking and taking orally-thus helping to improve our arteries, skin appearance and brain function among other things.
My friend, whose mother has Alzheimer’s, not only has been doing extensive research into the subject, for obvious reasons, but she herself is incorporating 100% coconut oil in her and her families diet, using it ‘on toast with peanut butter, as the oil for cooking our popcorn, steamed veggies, cooking fish- it really is nice to cook, armed with knowledge that it can get extremely hot and never become carcinogenic’ and her advice has inspired me to do the same, after I have read the article:
I hope reading this very informative piece will benefit both you and your loved ones looking into the far away future!
