Bag for a stylishly practical mum

A few years ago, it was almost impossible to find a stylish baby bag-there were some that deserved a passing glance, but they weren’t ‘keepers’, if you know what I mean. My absolute favourite until now has been Debra Clare’s ‘the baby and all bag’ which might have not been average on the stylish barometer, but boy was it and remains still fantastically practically for many reasons, particularly for allowing you to carry your child in it, on top of all the baby staff that is cleverly hidden inside.

But when I layed my eyes on Skip Hop‘s latest baby bag, called Bento, I ordered it without giving it a secondSHB thought and boy, was I not disappointed when it arrived!

It comes in two colours-black/grey and olive and style wise looks almost like Tumi luggage-so see, who says you can’t be both mother and a leader in the style stakes .)

Inside the bag not only do you have the practical changing mat but it comes with an insulated cooler bag which contains a freezing element and three CLIX containers for baby food or biscuits that slots beautifully into the bottom compartment.

The bag itself has a very practical layout and you can put a lot of staff inside without the bag looking too bulky-and by a lot of staff, I mean A LOT, having road-tested it during the trip to Disneyland, so I honestly know what I am talking about.

There are pockets for all kinds of things, including your own valuables and insulated ones for bottles/baby cup and you can carry it in your hand, on your shoulder, like a messenger bag or hang it on your buggy-again, practicality on all sides.

At the moment the only place you can find it at in the UK, is the internet site called happybags and their service is quick and efficient, plus you gain loyalty points when you buy from the site, which you can redeem against your later baby purchases.
