There are alway splenty of foundations/tinted moisturisers on offer but I find that for one reason or other many well-known brands don’t have the staying power on my bathroom shelf when it comes to foundation formulations.
Chanel has been producing great foundations for a while and I am pleased to say that I have two new additions to my make-up bag.
The first one was recommended to me by a globetrotting friend of mine who swears by Chanel’s Teint Innocence Teint Compact Creme Universel SPF 10. It’s a beautiful compact that easily fits into your travel bag or the back pocket of your jeans, if you feel like it .) If you fly a lot passing strict customs control shouldn’t be a problem (many of my girlfriends get nervous that the contents of their make-up bags will be taken away) as this foundation is not liquid. The formulation feels very light on the skin but gives nice coverage and feels cooling when you put it on with an enclosed sponge. In addition to being quite moisturising, it also has luminous pigments which brighten your complexion within minutes.
My second addition is Chanel‘s latest foundation called ‘Vitalumiere Aqua’–Ultra Light skin perfecting make-up instant natural radiance SPF 15.
I have been searching high and low for the shade that I wanted-beige tendre. I first tried it at Chanel’s make-up counter at Selfridges but unfortunately they were sold out-I then tried Peter Jones-a horribly unhelpful lady assistant who was slowly packing the purchase of a woman ahead of me, rebutted the help of another assistant, preferring to make me wait only to tell me that they were out of this particular shade everywhere in London but she was expecting stock next week-yes, Chanel would only oblige her counter and not any other-nice logic.! In the end I got the desired shade at one of Chanel boutique’s where staff was lovely and helpful-merci!
