When it comes to evening skincare we all are spoilt for choice, our bathroom shelves groaning under the weight of the expanding beauty arsenals. So not surprisingly newest RMS Beauty launch, Kakadu Evening Beauty Elixir, is quickly winning over beauty lovers unsettled by the effect of the pandemic on the state of their mood & skin.
A potent blend of beautiful oils & natural botanicals, this brightly orange elixir is bound not only to uplift your mood with it vibrancy, but nurture, brighten & nourish the face, while you sleep. Its star ingredient, Australian super fruit Kakadu Plum ( a funny name, reminding me of the gorgeously white plumaged Kakadu parrot ) is known to be one of the most concentrated natural sources of stable Vitamin C.
I adored RMS Beauty original, Beauty Oil, which was one of the first products Rose-Marie Bravo launched many moons ago. This oil and the newly launched Elixir are similar, according to RM (brand’s formidably funny & knowledgable founder) when it comes to the herbal extract and some of the oils. “But the main difference is that the Elixir has Kakadu Plum Seed Oil, instead of Rosehip, as well as super high end CoQ10, which makes it fabulously effective against negative impact of pollution, acting as free radical scavenger. RMS Kakadu Elixir also has a stable Vitamin C, where many Vitamin C boasting skincare products are GMO from sugar beets and very unstable, hence all of the preservatives and emulsifiers you find in various products.”
Application tip: Apply each evening, after cleansing, to the face and neck. It can be applied to the delicate eye area too, but be extra gentle in your application, so not to damage the thinner skin area.
What is also appealing is that this 15ml bottle of the elixir is quite potent and reminds me of the bottles Alice came across while exploring the Wonderland, but without the unwelcome side effects that she experienced .) A little bit of the product goes along way, due to the potent concentration & synergy of the ingredients. It also doesn’t contain water. Combining ingredients to revitalise, brighten, refresh, renew and brighten, as well as hydrate and brighten, it turns to be not just a pretty, but masterful multi-tasker for your face. That is not to say that you should neglect looking after the skin on your body – for that RMS Beauty has another recent launch, a Body Oil (I haven’t tried it, so can’t express an opinion here).
Since I started experimenting with the Elixir about two months ago, I think I did fall under its charm & now prefer it to the RMS Beauty Oil. It has a light texture, sinking into the skin without a trace almost instantly. No greasiness, just a subtle improvement in skin’s brightness, as if it was touched by an invisible glowing wand. It is suitable for all skin types, even sensitive, and works well when ‘coupled’ with a face serum or moisturiser (which you apply first, then ‘top up’ with the beauty elixir). Or you can cleanse, mist the skin and then apply RMS Beauty Evening Kakadu Beauty Elixir and go to bed looking gloriously regal. Best individual skincare products combinations depends on your skin’s daily needs, type, age & lifestyle, do bear it in mind when you examine your face in the mirror before cleansing & applying you skincare, particularly in the evening, when you might be a little be more abundant on time.

It’s been a busy year already for RMS Beauty when it comes to new product launches, but it is reassuring to see & know that new additions come along not for the expansion sake, but rather as the natural evolution the brand. Improving existing formulas, replacing previous packaging with more sustainable one and launching new products to compliment the existing range, as well as address customers requests and skin concerns.
